SynPatient Technology Demonstration

Image from the MDS SynPatient Technology Demonstration

The Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation contracted BoardPoint, LLC and Hoey Design & Solutions to produce a patient case presentation system demonstration for their annual conference. Extending technology developed by the Medical Learning Company, Steve Hoey adapted the design of the SynPatient product to match MDS's required look and feel. Steve wrote an ActionScript framework to create the SynPatient interface in Flash, to support the live technology demonstration. The presenters were able to type their questions for the patient and receive relevant responses, as well as order lab tests, review physical exam findings, and prescribe treatments.

Steve worked with the MDS Foundation director, as well as a team of medical content experts, to produce the finished product on-time and on-budget.

The SynPatient case presentation system is an effective learning tool that can be used for live presentations, as well as for web-based continuing medical education purposes.
