Why is this page so ugly?

The creative agency ISM of Boston approached Hoey Design & Solutions with a challenge: working within the bounds of an existing Flash-based presentation, create new components that fit within the overall architecture, use the same look-and-feel, use the same interface control elements, and integrate seamlessly with the existing content. The timeline: five days. Hoey Design & Solutions received the first materials on Thursday; the principals of ISM gave their pitch to the client on Tuesday. By Friday, the client had called to say that ISM had won the contract. ISM's director of Internet strategies said that Hoey Deisgn & Solutions' work "exceeded our expectations," and noted in particular the fact that we were "continually focusing on finding solutions."
